“As an ER Nurse myself, I believe that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I am committed to expanding healthcare access, lowering costs, and taking care of those who take care of us.”
—Kyle Mullica
During my time as a Representative, I have passed bills that:
Lowered the cost of your healthcare premiums.
Expanded healthcare access to Coloradans by aligning our Medicaid and Children’s health plan income eligibility with the federal standards.
Utilizes nurses to further help determine the best level of 911 emergency care for patients, resulting in more adequate care for patients as well as potentially saving our healthcare system millions of dollars.
Lower prescription drug costs by holding pharmacy benefit management firms accountable.
Enhanced hospital staffing committees to include 60% of clinical staff, which gives nurses a bigger voice in ensuring that staffing plans are set at safe levels.
Require hospitals to prepare and adhere to readiness plans to accommodate disaster/surge environments.
Invested $61 million to increase and develop the nursing workforce and expand the educational pipeline.
Created a foundation to build a health services reserve program. The goal is to have underutilized healthcare workers eventually be able to cross-train in other critical specialties, serve the state in times of disaster or emergency, and could receive student loan relief for their service in the program.
Provided fee relief for our state's nursing care team by suspending credentialling fees for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and others for two years.
